This is the last double page spread that I will research. This is another double page spread that really caught my eye, mainly because of the imagesand the colours. To start with, I believe there is a theme to this particular double page spread. The theme matches the name of the band 'The Hours'. It is kind horror and thriller at the same time but the images are calmer and quiter but made to look frightening. Another thing that matches is the name of the title and the images. The title is 'The Hours' and the editors have made a image to match the title. I think the main image of all of the clocks/pocketwatches is brilliant. I also like how there only one main image in the middle of the whole page and not just loads of small ones. It matches the colour scheme and the theme. Another good point about the double page spread is the text. Everything about it is really eye catching. The text colour matches the theme and the background, the text size isnt too big or too small and there is everything in like quotes etc. I also like how the text colour has linked with the theme because the theme is horrror/thriller and some of the text is in black and red which both represent evil things. (Black maybe representing dark and red representing blood). A last point about the double page spread is that the editors have even come up with a logo for the band, which also links with the theme because it is a picture of the band standing in front of a giant skull, it really makes the reader feel uneasy.
This is the second double page spread that i will research. I personally like this double page spread because it really caught my eye.
Firstly, the layout of the page is well thought of. I actually like how the text is on one page and the images are on the other page. I also like how the text is surounded by a border, but especially how the border is made up of the the title and main headline. You can tell that the border has been made from scratch and edited. I think it is also affective that the text is all in one font and size which makes it look very proffessional.
The imagery on the other hand I really like. The main image really caught my eye. The image of the casual person walking on pavement looks as if the text on the other page is on a wall and he is walking past. I also noticed the images behind the figure walking. The images of a crowd have been layered and put in the background through the doors as if they are coming though them or as if they are standing in them.
This is the first double page spread I am researching. This double page spread caught my eye because the main image is a photo of a famous band. The image covers one page and is bold and bright so it catches the reader's eye. The main image is used as the background on one of the pages, which is similar to the other double page spreads i have researched. I like how the editors have put comments and facts about the band around the image. They have made the text boxes the same colour and font as the text on the opposite page to match. It also matches the actual title of the band 'The Teenagers'. Also with this particular double page spread there is link between the image and the title. The photo of the band shows that they are quite 'layed back' and lazy which matches the title of the band because thats what teenagers generally do, lay back and be lazy. Another good point about this double page spread is that the text font and colour are all the same. This makes the whole page look proffessional and has had a lot of time spent on it.The text font size is not too big (which makes the page look unproffessional) but it is quite small but there is a lot of text anyway. One point that I noticed when I looked at the page is the colour scheme. The first thing I noticed is that the editors have changed the colours on one side of the page. I also noticed how the editors split up the page and put something completely irelavant to the band 'The Teenagers' and seperated from everything else, by changing the colour of the background to black instead of white or blue.
I have decided to research an extra contents page.I especially like these contents page. They are taken from exactly the same magazine but they are probably on different pages. The first thing I love about this contents page is the effects. The pattern that is up one side of the page is amazing. The 'torch like' figure is eye-catching and with all the different colours faded in it really makes it stand out It actually looks like a smoking torch. It has obviously taken a lot of time and work. Another thing I love about this contents page is the layout. The main thing that the reader would notice is the images, how they are spread out across the page. Some of the images are at the top of the page and some are at the bottom. Even though the large images are at the top, the smaller images are at the bottom. The only really negative point about this contents page is that the colours dont contrast. The multi colours dont really mix with the black and white titles. Another point about the pages is that they are exactly the same, which shows that they are obviously from the same magazine. The only problem with this contents page is that the text is a little bit to small so I dont think the reader would be able to read it, however the font if thetext is all the same.
This is the third contents page that I will research. The first thing that the reader would notice on the contents page is that it is obviously for a punk magazine because the text and the font suggests that it is. Unlike all of the other contents page that I have studied this particular shows that it is actually a contents page. Firstly, at the top of the page it actually says the word 'contents' above all of the text. I love how the text is all in the font, all in the same size and all in capital letter, however it is all in different colours which really catches my eye. Another good point about this contents page is that the effects that have been edited in are amazing. I think it is great how they have blended the text and images in with background. There are also many different colours used within the background. I especially love how the red text on the right hand side of the page has a sort of 'glow' around each letter which makes it really stand out and how the whole of the text looks hand written because of the font it is in. A third good thing about the contentspage is the images. They are all exactly what the magazineis about whichis punk or heavy metal. The models are all dressed appropriatley andthe photos all look proffessional. I also think that it is effective how the editors have spread out the images across the page, so one image is at the top and one is at the bottom.
This is the second contents page that I have researched. I absolutley love this contents page because it really caught my eye. The first think that you notice is that the page is in black and white. Most of the contents pages I have found (that are not on the blog yet but bare with me) are mostly in colour so this one is unconventional because it is different. Even though it is not a music magazine, I decided to use it anyway because i love the design. To start with I think it is very affective that they have used all the different shades of blackand white such as grey. This is probably so that none of the colours stand out from eachotherand they all blend together. I love how the editors have put the whole thing onto a white background and then layered the images on top of that and then the text onto the images. Another interesting about this contents page is that the editors have put the credits on this page instead of on the back page. The main thing about this contents page (which is what I love the most about it) is that actual part where it tells you what page things are on, and the credits, look like the pages are torn and stuck on. They look like they have half of the page as if it has been burned away. Also how they are layered over the images.
